Yemen Emergency Appeal

Yemen is currently in a humanitarian crisis. The most severe cholera epidemic in history has killed thousands of people and left hundreds of thousands of people ill in the meantime, hunger strikes are ongoing across the country as citizens peacefully protest their oppression by government forces who are also accused of carrying out unrestrained bombings against rebel-held regions with no respect for civilian lives or infrastructure targets alike.

16 million people suffer from hunger each day in Yemen, and with the health system having basically collapsed due to more than seven decades of war there’s no other place for them to go. With nowhere else for help other than at home, dead or alive COVID19 patients are starving time because doctors aren’t able to access their communities anymore; Too busy fighting one another rather than trying to save lives.

The poor conditions that are afflicting the country have created a perfect environment for transmission of HIV. 4 million people live in poverty, without a permanent residence and are unable to eat because food prices continue to increase, while wages are low. Not enough money is available for basic necessities like access to clean water and healthcare. This is the reason it will be nearly impossible to control the spread of this deadly disease without help from overseas. We must, however, to act fast before it’s too too late.

While the Yemenite population has been fighting Cholera spread for some time, it is not yet free of threat. There may be some hope thanks to international organizations such as Save The Children USA and World Vision UK supporting them through COVID-19.

What Welfare Trusts can be used to assist Yemenis

In a time of widespread suffering in the world, welfare trusts have provided millions of people with lifesaving food and water. They also provide a COVID-19 health kit to help prevent the infection that has already killed a number of Yemenis.

Over the past few years, welfare trusts have worked hard in Yemen to help those that are most in need. They continue delivering humanitarian aid in extremely difficult circumstances, where they face conflict and difficulty in getting to their destination, which is the main reason why there is the need for international agencies similar to them.

In a time where many are struggling to survive We’re happy that there’s help to those in need. Partnering with local organizations and distributing food items as well as cash so people can buy essential goods while helping to boost the economy will hopefully lead to a reduction in hunger, or, at the very least, close to it than before.

Women in Yemen have received an opportunity to be reborn because of the numerous generous donors who have given their time and funds to support this cause. Maternity hospitals, which are a welfare trust, receive donations from charitable organizations to ensure that every woman can deliver safely without suffering from dehydration or health risks during labor. Rehabilitation centers provide post-birth care and medication for mothers prior to their return to the community.

In response to COVID-19, numerous welfare trusts are providing hygiene kits for families living in makeshift camps and delivering safe water so that it can be used by public facilities like hospitals or schools.
